Quranic Inferences: Daughter; Wife; Divorcee; Widow:
- Daughter should
not be looked down on as it is a major sin.
- The upbringing,
education and marriage of the daughter is obligatory on father.
- Treating wife
nicely, is somewhat obligatory on the husband.
- If there are some
unlikable habits in the wife, they must be ignored in order to maintain decent
relationship.
- Husband should
deal with wife politely and affectionately.
- The amount set
for marriage is legitimate right of the wife, which husband must pay happily.
- The bread and
butter and accommodation of the wife is liability of the husband.
- Man should
safeguard the dignity of woman.
- Husband should
fulfil the sexual rights of wife.
- In case of more
than one wife, all of them must be treated equally.
- If wife does not
like the husband and the relationship cannot survive, she should compensate the
husband in terms of some part of wealth and take divorce.
- A divorced woman
can remarry according to her choice.
- Cancelling the
divorce just to tease the divorced woman is not allowed.
- In the period of
confinement after divorce, the divorcee should be kept at home and provided
with necessities of life.
- If the divorcee
is pregnant, the ex-husband should accommodate, feed and clothe the ex-wife.
- If father wants
his child to be breast-fed by the divorced mother, he will have to compensate
her financially with a set and agreed amount.
- Poor, destitute
or needy widow must be helped financially and in other ways.
- If a poor widow
asks for something out of the wealth of inheritance of a deceased, she should
be given a considerable portion of it.
- It is ordained to
treat the relatives well.
